Avinash Thadani, Honours Bachelor of Science - Nursing (BScN)

Dr. Avinash Thadani

BSc, MSc, PhD
Professor, Honours Bachelor of Science – Nursing

Biography

Dr. Avinash Thadani received his PhD from the University of Toronto in 2001 in the field of medical chemistry. Following a three-year postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Chicago, Avinash moved to the University of Windsor to start his own independent research program in drug development as an Assistant Professor. In 2011, he moved to the School of Health, Wellness and Sciences at Â鶹ֱ²¥, where he has been a professor in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) degree program ever since. Currently Avinash teaches in Â鶹ֱ²¥â€™s standalone Honours Bachelor of Science – Nursing degree program.

Avinash has been extensively involved in undergraduate education, curriculum development, and exploring research interests in student learning and virtual reality. However, his real passion is teaching and helping students succeed in their career and other life goals. Avinash has successfully mentored many student nurses who are now thriving in their independent nursing practice.

I am passionate about student learning, and believe and know that every student has an innate ability to succeed in achieving their career and learning goals. My role is mainly as a learning facilitator, motivator, and to be the students’ champion as they navigate the BScN program. Towards that end, I ensure that I always do whatever I can to help them in their learning journey. I love teaching nursing students as they are compassionate, caring, and display a genuine desire to learn. Without nurses, our entire health-care system would not function, and I am extremely grateful to have an opportunity to play a small role in helping our students achieve their dreams.
