Biography

A recent graduate of the Master of Arts – Environmental Practice program at Royal Roads University, Scott is currently engaged in collaborative research helping electrical utilities account for the greenhouse gas (GHG) emission impacts of distributed energy resources (DER). He is also working with a cross-disciplinary team at Â鶹ֱ²¥ to implement an academic microgrid for educational and research purposes. This work includes the design of student labs that demonstrate how renewable energy technologies (RET) integrate with microgrid systems.Ìý

Scott has spent over 20 yearsÌýadvocating forÌýopen-source, interoperable, standards-based web technologies as both a practicing web developerÌýandÌýas an educator. He is passionate about disruptive technologies and innovative approaches to solving humanity’s most pressing and complex problems. His applied research efforts are directed toward the advancement of technologies, products and services that promote environmental, economic and social sustainability.Ìý
