Applicants must meet the following requirements to be eligible for admission to thisÌýprogram:

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)/Certificate (OSSC), or be at leastÌý19 years of age on the first day of classes
• demonstrate academic needs which require curriculum modification,Ìýaccommodation, and learning facilitator support in order to succeed
• demonstrate a level of independence that does not require constantÌýsupervision

Please note that first-year enrolment is limited; satisfying minimum entrance requirements does notÌýguarantee admission. Applicants must complete the selection process to determine admissibility.

Mature students, non-secondary school applicants (19 years or older), and home schoolÌýapplicants may also be considered for admission. Eligibility may be met by applicantsÌýwho have taken equivalent courses, upgrading, completed their GED, and equivalency testing. Applicants who have taken courses from a recognized and accredited post-secondaryÌýinstitution and/or have relevant life/learning experience may also be considered forÌýadmission; refer to the Credit for Prior Learning website for details:

Selection Process

Applicants must complete the selection process in order to be considered for admission.ÌýThough completion of the selection process does not guarantee admission, admission isÌýnot possible without a completed process.

All applicants must:

• have a third party complete an Advocate Reference Form;
• book and attend a program admissions interview where they will be askedÌýto complete comprehension exercises and answer questions aboutÌýthemselves.

Information about, and materials related to, this process is provided in a mail-out to eachÌýapplicant after their application to the program through Ìý

Students may be required to obtain a criminal reference/vulnerable sector check for their CICE field placements. This information is communicated to the student by the Field Placement Officer.

Graduates of the program may find a variety of entry-level jobs. Students may choose to apply to other college programs after completing the program provided admission requirements are met. All other college programs are completed without modification or Learning Facilitator support.
